Thoughts about the learning situation
Once I look at Future Art Company I visualize an organization whose strategies and goals were based on the short-term projections. The company was doing so well in the past when production of greeting cards was not differentiated as it is currently. Future Art was once a major producer of generic cards. Customers loved generic cards then but not the same at the present. Currently, customers look for personalized and customizable greetings cards. Due to the increased competition Future Art tries to leverage the situation by creating a custom company to liaise with Fancy Company towards the production of custom cards. Fancy is an organization that majors on custom cards. Therefore the designer and producer will be Fancy that will be distributed to Custom Cards. In this regard, Custom cards will require a manager to facilitate communications between the two parties. Custom Cards will also require a marketer and a salesperson. It is my expectations that Custom Cards will fall under matrix structure organizations. I expect the company to have a production team and a functional team. Custom Card may suffer from the complexity of the command.
Impact of learning situation change to our feeling
Future Art was once a thriving organization but the growth is now short-lived following a more differentiated market. From the perspective, I feel that successful enterprises are built on the future perspectives. Some may lack the perspective but strategies, goals, and values in place are very easy to manipulate in response to change. Organizations should be built on exponential functions and strategies (Journal of change management, 2010). As a manager strategic outlook for about ten years needs to be considered before deciding on sticking to certain objectives.
