ABSTRACT

This report largely focuses on my personal leadership skills required for the development plan. To achieve this plan, I focused on my current and future goals and provided information regarding my strengths and improvements that need to made to improve leadership development. Highlights on emerging leadership practices and leadership development trend is being made. Further, outline of my plan in the upcoming years is been made relevant development opportunities in being considered. At the end, an action plan is being made to now the appropriate skills that are needed to achieve the development plan and how it can be achieved in the given tile frame. Lastly, monitoring and evaluation of the plan is being done so that the timely performance can be verified in the particular time period.

INTRODUCTION

Leadership can be defined as an action to lead people or organization, or possessing the ability to do this (Goleman, 2017). Leadership is a broader concept that involves establishing clear vision, sharing this defined vision with others so that they can follow us and finally coordinating all the interrelated task so that all the work can be done in an effective manner (Fairhurst and Connaughton, 2014). Since leadership is an important concept in the modern organization, I will be creating a leadership Development plan for me so that I can identify my current leadership skills. This will help me in making my future goals so that I can effectively work in an organization and can achieve my goals and target. Moreover, my strength regarding leadership skills are efficient decision making, my communication skills and risk taking ability, however I need to work on few skills like influencing others so that they can willingly follow me and addressing large number of people at a time so that I can be a good leader in future. I assessed my skills while studying my MBA during the group task when I was assigned the group leader by my mentor. In addition to this, below mentioned report will highlight my overall future goals and the action plan with connection to it so that I can enhance my leadership skills through proper development plan.
