Business and Strategic Analysis
Bank of Queensland (BOQ) is one of the biggest retail banks of Australia. It is headquartered in Brisbane, Queensland and has around 252 branches all across the country (BOQ, 2016). While the bank earlier had a rough time because of lack of any clear strategy or approach towards growth and customer acquisition, its focus on regional marketing and development and mergers with different organizations have helped it in competing with the big four banks of the country (Drummond, 2015). The key focus of the company’s strategies remains on four things, i.e. multi-channel optimization, operational excellence, talent and culture and balancing risk and return (BOQ, 2016). Maintaining strong customer relationship is one of the keys strengths of the overall strategic orientation of the bank and it always tries to find new ways in which the overall experience and services given to the customers can be improved and enhanced (BOQ, 2016).
