Entrepreneurship & Marketing- GoPro Case Study

Introduction

There is a difference between normal businessmen and entrepreneurs. The ability to engage in a business does not in any way make a person an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurship is therefore the character, practice, and skills that are combined with the ability to innovate and a readiness to take risk and sense opportunities. An entrepreneur’s initiative is always heightened with a purpose to grow and be a part of an influential community with unique business and marketing characteristics that are not common to any other person taking up a business (Kuratko, 2016). The level of perception of an entrepreneur regarding business and the mobilization of resources is higher than that of a normal business person or rather a person with a normal inclination towards the purpose of business. The need to achieve goals is persistent and they are positively oriented towards problem solving with a constant thrive for growth and excellence. In the case study, GoPro’s founder Nick Woodman is an evident example of the qualities that define an entrepreneur (Mac 2013). The report is a breakdown of how Nick woodman’s innovations relate to the concept of entrepreneurship and marketing.
