Reflection

My Lord, most basic lessons in life are learned through the medium of family. A family is the most basic unit which teaches a child basic values in life. The first moral lessons, the biggest do’s and don’ts of life come from family. Every time a  child lies or cheats, it’s the mother who first through love and through scolding tells a child that cheating and lying are wrong. It’s the mother who through her love and care brings up a child, she cares for the child and she nourishes the child. A father provides support to the mother in doing this, he talks to the child, makes the child learn basic things, provides for him financially, plays with the child teaches the child the art of team work but most importantly  teaches a child how to be a full functioning adult. This is the reason your honor why families are such an important institution in the society. Theorists, mental health specialists, sociologists all have focused upon how a stable family is needed for the growth of a child (DeLong et al,2014).

Imagine your Honor, a child devoid of love and care. A child not being, brought up by love and care, not being given attention and care that they deserved but left to fend for itself. A child is like clay your honor, they can be molded in any way possible. We have a similar case here Sir, a child small, not knowing her way around the way has to face an alcoholic mother. A child who should be given love and affection and told that she is special was replaced by alcohol (Mrazek,2014). Imagine, a young child roaming around the house in hunger because the parents are busy fighting and when the father storms off, the mother drinks herself to oblivion. Where does the child get food? Then the parents get separates after countless late night fights, throwing things and shouting matches. The father is no longer with the child, the child feels abandoned but the child doesn’t know what abandonment is.
