She was not found until a week later when she had lost too much blood in both her legs. Therefore, I do humanitarian work to help others in her memory. Initially, after graduating, I began working as a registered nurse in the intensive care unit at Prime Court Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur for four years. I later joined the ICRC as it provided a good platform for me to reach vulnerable individuals on a global scale.

Interviewee: In humanity, we are guided to provide life-saving support without any form of distinction to victims of disasters by incorporating equality. However, while responding to the cyclone in Mozambique as a humanitarian nurse, there was a group of foreigners who were accorded emergency rescue using a helicopter while some locals were not accorded the same treatment. Now the principle of humanity states that every victim in crisis should be handled with the best emergency response machines. In addition, the principle of equality states that everyone should be accorded equal treatment. This principle was broken during this humanitarian service.
